Braved the Shave 💇🏼♀️

Today my biggest fear happened and I have officially lost my hair to chemo 🤞. It took a lot of courage to do it but also relieved and glad I did as the hairs falling out were driving me insane! Almost more traumatic than not having any!!
Fingers crossed my wig arrives tomorrow! Then can get used to that and get my confidence up to face the outdoors again! For now it’s just me and my head scarf. Word of advice, always read the small print when ordering a wig! My lovely uncle mentioned the VAT cost and that I shouldn’t have had to pay that due to the hair being lost for medical reasons. BUT I stupidly didn’t read that and a form has to be completed prior to purchase 🙄 so that’s £170! There’s a chance I may be able to get this back though so it’s not all doom and gloom so fingers crossed! 🤞
In the grand scheme of things it’s not all bad! My critical illness claim has been AGREED! Money worries have become slightly less and the pressure to get back to work before I’m ready due to money concerns is slightly less likely 🤞.
Positive: Fears are only fears, you can face them and stay strong! Keep your perspective, when my hair fell out yesterday I just wanted to give up but today I have taken control 👊. PLEASE everyone reading this get critical illness cover if you haven’t already as you don’t know when/ if these shi*** things are going to happen!
